還記得HiFiMAN曾推出獲得許多讚賞的平面振膜耳機HE-400嗎，現在HiFiMAN又推出了新款的HE-400S平面振膜耳機，美金定價為299元。HE-400S的重量僅有350公克，以一個full-size的平面振膜耳機而言，是相當輕盈的重量。HE-400S比起同類型的產品輕了30%的重量，新設計符合人體工學的頭戴，能減輕使用的壓力，更適合長時間配戴聆聽。使用天鵝絨的耳罩除了舒適以外，也能提供相當好的音質，外部的銀色耳罩更具有時尚、科技的外觀。
HE-400S依然使用開放式的耳罩設計，單端的平面振膜磁鐵驅動系統能提供清晰、逼真的音場，以及HiFiMAN最著名的音像空間成像。HE-400S的靈敏度提升到了98dB，這樣高效的效率，無疑是更適合和便攜式音樂訊源以及手機等智慧裝置一同使用。如果搭配耳機擴大機更容易完全發揮出HE-400S的所有實力，HE-400S的阻抗為22歐姆。HE-400S內部所使用的線材是以無氧銀和銅線為主，並使用一個易於更換的2.5mm耳機線連接端子。
